The “I’ve been living in this country for three years and you’re the first barista to get my name right” AU
jikook // 1.5K // fluff (ao3)
Jungkook walked in the Starbucks closest to his building already dreading the moment he would be called to the counter and wondering what ridiculous variation of his name he would get that day. He had moved to the United States almost three years before and since then not one single barista had managed to get his name right. Honestly, he was starting to think the list of misspellings was infinite.
He sighed when the person in front of him finished ordering and was ready to be as fast as possible, with the least interaction he could manage, when he found himself frozen on the spot as what could possibly be the most beautiful smile he had ever seen was aimed at him.
“Hi, welcome to Starbucks. What can I get you?” Jungkook swallowed, that guy’s voice was so sweet he was sure if cotton candy could talk, this is what it would sound like. “Sir?”
Oh, right, he was supposed to answer.
“Um…” Good job, Jungkook, very eloquent. “A large caramel m-macchiato, please.” He wanted to slap himself in the face for stuttering, but the guy – Jimin, according to his nametag – was still smiling at him and the only thing he could do was stare.
“Is that all?” Jimin asked and, God, Jungkook wanted to drown in his voice.
